IPL4: CSK the champion, Gayle too

Chennai Super Kings has defended its title and won the IPL trophy once again, beating easily the runner-up Royal Challengers Bangalore with a score of 205/5 – 147/8 in the final match held today. MS Dhoni has been a very good captain to CSK and the consecutive winning of IPL title for two years is the proof of it. Will Dhoni lead the CSK next year’s IPL?

Gayle’s a Winner too!

After not been bought from the IPL’s auction, Chris Gayle returned to IPL through Royal Challengers Bangalore several weeks after the IPL season started. RCB has been right on their decision as Gayle has brought the IPL house down and led the team to finals. And aside from the great batting and bowling, Gayle also entertained the fans with his dances, winning him the title of Golden Player. Royal Challenger may not have taken the IPL trophy but Gayle has won more than that. Congrats!

Ganguly’s-not-so-Gayle Performance

When Sourav Ganguly was not bought in the auction, he totally stopped playing cricket so when Pune Warriors took him after several weeks the IPL had started, Ganguly was not in shape to play. Ganguly played in Pune’s last three matches but he did not share the same fate that Gayle got. Maybe next IPL, right Dada?

KKR Ad-ful IPL

Kolkata Knight Rider was not only visible in IPL matches but in most television advertisements too. With KKR’s improved standing in IPL and King Khan’s star power, the face value of the team has become more powerful that Knight Rider’s players and Shah Rukh Khan were always in most of the TV commercials. Kolkata Kinght Riders did not win the IPL trophy but they are more visible than the champion.
